HOW MUCH WILL IT COST?

The Spartanburg Spartans Basketball program boasts to be the ONLY AAU organization in South Carolina that presently does NOT charge membership fees.  Costs incurred for participation in Tournaments are raised through fundraising events.  All players are required to participate in these events, whether they play or not.

If a team member chooses not to participate in the fundraising events, which they can, then they will pay a $350.00 fee plus travel expenses.

HOW MUCH PLAYING TIME WILL MY SON GET?

Individual development must occur within the context of team competition.  Therefore, the Spartanburg Spartans do not adhere to a minimum or guaranteed amount of playing time in a game for any player.  Coaches attempt to use ALL players in every game, but player participation is at the coaches’ discretion.

HOW MUCH TRAVELING IS INVOLVED?

This is dependent on the number of tournaments to be attended by the team.  The majority of travel is for the Super Regional and the National Tournaments.  If the team qualifies for the National Tournament, it will be expected to travel to our respective location.

HOW OFTEN WILL THE TEAM PRACTICE?

Typically, the Spartanburg Spartans team practices twice a week (2 to 3 hours per practice).  The team may practice more prior to the State, Regional or national Tournaments.
